King Size Slim At Rosslyn Court, Kent

June 27 @ 7:30 pm BST

King Size Slim has played at Rosslyn Court twice before and has brought the house down each time. We are excitied to have him back, Especially as he is mainly confined to a boat these days…
KING SIZE SLIM is an award winning performer and songwriter who has taken his unique roots sound and across 5 continents and countless countries. That sound emanates from a road-worn Resophonic guitar and powerful and direct vocal. He has performed both solo and with the KING SIZE SLIM band at Major festivals across the UK and Europe chalking up 1500 plus live shows.
“… Here’s KING SIZE SLIM, I really like this record.” – Huey Morgan BBC Radio 2 / 6 Music
He has toured with and supported many artists including Dawn Penn, Skip ‘Little Axe’ McDonald, Geno Washington and Nine Below Zero. Appearing as hand-picked special guest of Rock legends Queen at the BBC event ‘Queen Rock Big Ben’ led to an invitation to perform and record for Bahraini royalty.
“The band seethe and sway behind him with that kind of easy camaraderie of musical veterans. There is a stripped-down drum kit dealing with minimalist rhythm and a honking grinding sax adding to the ribald, darkly poetic swing. Barelli has form, his stagecraft is impeccable. This is an earthy and beautiful music of the soul and of the earth, and you can’t help thinking of all the big festival stages that they could own.” – John Robb Louder Than War. February ’23
‘Songs from the M/V Sea Witch’ received radio play in North America, Australasia and Europe with the accompanying Theatrical show of the same name playing to sold out audiences.
Tickets at £12, or if you cant afford that this week a few at £6. If you would like to help Rosslyn Court support concessionary tickets then there are also a few seats at £18. This is appreciated, thank you.
Rosslyn Court
Expect a small, seated, friendly, quirky, listening venue with a heart – we have a tiny bar selling beer, wine, cider and hot and cold drinks -nibbly stuff and always a cake. The venue is accessible, on one level. You will be seated at tables or in rows, according to numbers in the audience.
The first hour of concerts is livestreamed on YouTube. You can watch it any time after 7.30 on the night of the concert via the Rosslyn Court Website. There is an exclusive second set for the audience in the room, including a Q&A with the performers. We ask you to make a donation, please, when you watch the livestream to help us to continue this service.
In buying a ticket you are entered for the Rosslyn Court raffle. You may win a CD …or a “Who Gives A Crap” emergency toilet roll! WGAC donate half their profits to water charities and are plastic free. People who donate or engage with the live chat during the concert are also entered into the raffle.
There is usually a floor singer and often a 2-minute community slot informing us of what happens locally. The second half starts with a Q&A and is not livestreamed. If you think of something you want to know more about in the first half, just ask! Sometimes there is another floor song.
The concerts usually finish well before 10. Except for Tim Edey because he is unstoppable. (We also run a B&B here hahaha)
If you want to view the livestream after midnight of the concert date then go to the livestream option on the website where all the old livestreams live.
Tickets are £12. We have a few at £6 and some at £24 to help us to subsidise the concessionary tickets.
