Sheffield Folk Celebration Weekend

November 23 - November 24

Martin Simpson, Melrose Quartet, Underground Sun, Pete Smith, Alec Thompson, Sheffield City Morris, Tim Van Eyken, Rosie Hood Band, Culverake, plus live folk DJs Sam Hindley and James Fagan

Join hosts Sam Hindley, James Fagan and Pete Smith for an incredible weekend of top-drawer live folk music, sessions, a rare folk vinyl auction and Sheffield carols, all under one roof. We have drawn together two wonderful events into a weekend festival, and it’s very affordable! We hope to fill Crookes Social Club on both days – and all profits are going to two important charities – Alzheimer’s Research UK and Brain Tumour Research. One £30 ticket will get you into every event over the whole weekend. Individual day tickets just £20.

Saturday 23rd Nov: “Remembering Gerry Bates & Judith Wilford” – Martin Simpson, Melrose Quartet, Underground Sun, Pete Smith, Alec Thompson, Sheffield City Morris
Sunday 24th Nov: “Celebrating 10 Years of Sam & James on Thank Goodness It’s Folk” – Tim Van Eyken, Rosie Hood Band, Culverake, plus live folk DJs Sam Hindley and James Fagan

There will also be sessions and communal singing on both days, and an auction of Gerry Bates’s rare folk vinyl collection, donated by the late Judith Wilford to raise money for the charities mentioned above.

Timings:

Saturday Session – 2pm-5pm. Saturday Evening Concert: 7pm doors, show 7.30pm-11pm
Sunday Session / Vinyl Auction – 11am-2pm. Sunday Afternoon Concert: 3pm-6pm
